Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 First Impressions

Samsung seems to be on a smartphone rampage, releasing three models in the Galaxy M series and now three new Galaxy A models within a month – and then there are the three Galaxy S10 variants going on sale in early March. 

Thursday's launch of the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A10 aims to strengthen the company's lower-mid-range portfolio, and in fact the pricing of these new models mean that the A-series will now overlap with the M-series.

We were able to spend some time with the new Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30, which will be the first to go on sale, at today's launch event, and here are some early thoughts.

Samsung A50 and Samsung A30

Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 can be seen as better versions of M-Series in the case of FEATURES. Samsung is targeting all these phones in the same millennium audience, but the A-Series models feel a bit more premium. 

The Galaxy A50, while still relatively inexpensive, trades the features in the form of RAM and under the glass, there is an Infinity-U. Nouch and fingerprint sensor with a super AMOLED screen for storage, and three rear cameras. 

In the case of the features, the Galaxy A30 is less differentiated, and with a standard fingerprint sensor and dual camera module on the rear, but there is only one screen.

Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 both seem very clumsy to watch. They are highly decorated, with no curved edges or seam frame with curved edge glass on the front edge. 

The Galaxy A50 has a "3D prism" design on the rear that separates light and disperses, when you look at it from different angles, create unique patterns.

Blindly, there is a sense of depth, and the black unit we were able to spend time with the blues like reds, greens and blues on the edges with gray over time. In order to really appreciate it, you have to see it yourself. The Galaxy A50 will also be available in white and blue colors.

Both models have the same 6.4-inch 1080x2340-pixel super AMOLED screen and you can not tell the two different from the front. Samsung says that he chose this panel because the youngsters targeting it want to watch videos and play games all the time. 

We liked what we saw with both phones in our short time - the screen is crisp and vibrant. The scoop size traces are unfortunately quite distracting. The screen borders are not very thin and are still noticeable chin, but designed for the price you are paying is quite good.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 is of the same size and size but has a simple finish on the rear. This phone is available in red, blue and black colors. Looks like a rear glass, but Samsung has not yet confirmed what it is made of. Both phones are easily found with fingerprints.

Buyers will be pleased to know that both the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 come with their wired headset and flexible plastic cases in their retail box. 

Gadgets 360 readers are surprised and frustrated by the lack of headset bundled with the Galaxy M10 90 7,990 (review) and the Galaxy M20 (review). Both phones also ship with heavy 15W chargers and USB Type C cable.

The two phones we saw were both Android's 9 with the new Forest UI of Samsung, which is designed around the usability, but all the icons and text seem very large.

We see some customization options, and when we are doing our full review, we spend more time with them. The display seemed just fine - neither the device was particularly fast, but they did not feel bloated and either did not have stutter or interval.

Samsung boasts especially on cameras which are both equipped with the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30. The pair's 25-megapixel f / 1.7 primary rear camera with an additional 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and 5-megapixel f / 2.2 depth sensor is more expensive.

The Wide-angle camera has a 123-degree area and can be used even if you take a still along with video recording. Camera features include intelligent visual recognition, a portrait mode with an adjustable Bokeh effect, a pro mode and slow motion video capture. With a 25-megapixel fixed-focus front camera, you can create your own AR mojos to send to others.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 steps down to a 16-megapixel primary rear camera and loses its dedicated depth sensor, but still has a 5-megapixel f / 2.2 wide-angle camera. The front camera also has a 16-megapixel sensor and f / 2.2 aperture. 

Despite not being a Depth Sensor, the app has a live focus mode - our full review will tell us whether there is any major disadvantage in functionality.

Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 both have 4000mAh battery, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio socket and dual-SIM tray with different MicroSD card slot. 

The Galaxy A50 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 9610 SoC, while the Galaxy A30 meets the Exynos 7904 similar to the Galaxy M20 and the Galaxy M30. Strangely, when it comes to internal storage, there is no substitute, and both models have 64 GB.

With Samsung Galaxy A50, you have an option between 6 GB and 4GB RAM, which costs Rs. 22,990 and Rs. 19,990 respectively With 4GB of RAM, there is only one configuration for the Galaxy A30, which costs Rs. 16,990 Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 will go on sale in India on March 2.
