HIGHLIGHTS
After experimenting with unique sensors, lenses and software features with Huawei P10 and P20 families, we now have the newest brand new P30 lineup new Huawei P30 Pro.
The defining feature of this phone is its 5X optical zoom capability, which defeats all the other things in the market by a large margin, and shows that Huawei's R & D and manufacturing capabilities are the best in the world.
Better yet, the engineer zoom lens is not the only effective thing about the camera's camera or its features as a whole.

With an asking price in India Rs. 71,990, the new Huawei P30 Pro 71,990 has practically every feature and ability that you can think of keeping in a smartphone today.
This will be right against the iPhone XS Max 600 109,600 (review), Samsung Galaxy S10 + (review), and Google Pixel 3XL (review) - Huawei does not mention his Mate 20 Pro, (review). There is a lot to dig in, so let's start.

Three colors should be finished, along with a neutral black, but only two available in India, with the subtle color gradients representing the different times of the day.
Breathing crystals and Aurora have blue gradients in both, but with pre-white and lilac accents, it is much lighter, while the latter is deep and saturated, which is in the top and dark purple color. The red-orange-amber sunrise and plain black options have not been launched in India, which is a pity.

Our Aurora version of the Huawei P30 Pro definitely caught the attention, because of its color and its large size and also due to the specific camera module on the rear.
The Huawei P30 Pro is bigger than today's standards. It is 158mm long, 73.4mm wide and 8.41mm thick. At 192g, its weight will be a bit more for the comfort of some people.
If you have tried to use this phone with one hand, then you will not have an easy time, and while typing it will look heavy.
The P30 Pro is made of front and rear glass. Curiously, Huawei has not said anywhere that it is strong or reinforced, but the company told us that the use of glass has been "massively tested" for "high power" and stability.
Both glass panels are rounded on the sides, and they sandwich the metal frame of the phone between them in almost precise sweeping curves. The top and bottom of the phone are completely flat, on the contrary.
The Aurora version we are reviewing has a light blue frame that never matches any of the rear colors and becomes unconscious by looking at the phone's head-on.
At the front of the Huawei P30 Pro, we have a 6.47-inch OLED panel, which can be the only non-cutting-edge feature of this phone: one notch at the top
This is not a bad thing, but other creators are scoring points with all types of designs to free up screen space, and since the Honor View 20 View 37,999 (review) we brought a hole-punch camera month earlier It's weird that Huwai Did not try something like this here.
The company manufactures it instead of eliminating earpiece. Instead of having a visible speaker, the sound is generated throughout the upper half of the screen.

The P30 Pro screen also has an integrated fingerprint sensor, and although Huawei says it has been made better than the Mate 20 Pro, it is still slower than a standard capacitive sensor; It is enough to disappoint slightly.
Even in registering your fingerprints, we took longer than normal On the plus side, it was almost perfect once every time we used it, and also recognized as a return.
On the Huawei P30 Pro, the OLED screen measures 6.47 inches diagonally and its resolution is 1080x2340, but it is before accounting for rounded corners and notch.
Huawei says that this display supports the extended DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR (although there is no mention in the official spec sheet, Huawei told Review Techie that the HDR10 standard is supported).
If you are worried about narrow screen boundaries, then there is still a small part of the chin on this phone.

When you look at the main module, you can see two simple looking cameras and a square window with a deeply recessed mechanism.
It's a 5X optical zoom camera, and as Huawei tells us, the mechanism is actually excluded horizontally in the width of this phone, in which the prism is the prism to avoid coming into the light. We have more details about all these functions.

The Kirin 980 has been built on the 7nm manufacturing process and has two high powered ARM 2.6GHz Cortex-A76 cores, two more Cortex-A76 cores that are running at 1.92GHz, and four for the Cortex-A55 core power efficiency.
It has an ARM Mali-G76 GPU, integrated LTE modem, and two "nerve processing units" or AI accelerator blocks.
Huawei launched P30 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in India. At the international level, there are variants of 128 GB and 512 GB of storage, and it is strange that the company has opted not to offer options here, especially the cheapest.
Huawei announced a new file system called EROFS (Extended Read-Only File System) last year and P30 Pro uses it for more efficient use of 20 percent better read speed and storage space.
It has a 4200mAh battery and supports charging up to 40W using the charger and cable included in the Huawei P30 Pro.
Wireless Fast Charging is supported up to 15W. You can also reverse-charge wireless headphones such as Qi-compatible devices, but it will be very slow.
For connectivity, the Huawei P30 Pro has VoLTE on both SIMs with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11ac and 5GHz bands, Bluetooth 5, Dual-band GPS plus five other Global Satellite Location Services, NFC and of course LTE.
NFC can be used to pay in some countries and unlock cars, and the latter facility may be supported by some car makers in India in the future. USB Type-C port works on USB 3.1 Gen1 Speed (5Gbps), but only when you use your own cable - it works on the included USB 2.0 speed.
P30 Pro is the first phone that Huawei has shipped with its 9.1 version of EMUI skin, and there are some improvements on EMUI 9.0. Huawei says that the new default icon grid is given more space with larger icons, and all the visual elements have been redesigned.
An interesting feature is Huawei's GPU Turbo 3.0, which has been claimed to optimize performance in 25 popular games, including PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, Real Racing 3, Minecraft and PES 2019.
This machine uses learning how the Karin 980 processor can be adapted for accountability and power consumption with each game.
The Huawei P30 Pro always has the option of Always-On Display which is disabled by default. Within the settings app, you will find the ability to clone the toggle and some messaging app for the Android 9 digital wellbeing tool (converted to digital balance), some gestures and shortcuts.
There is a theme app, but the customization is not as deep as some other custom UI allows - we would have liked the ability to enable the app drawer instead of having all icons on the home screen.
Our unit had some preloaded apps with Facebook, Messenger, Netflix, booking.com and Camera 360. There is a 'Top Apps' folder displaying ads for "Recommended apps."
Huawei's own app includes the Hierarchy Service app, Tips, Notepad, SOS Alert, Ride mode to discourage distracted driving and App Store.

When we first started using this phone, we got annoyed by the sheer number of "helpful" tips, which Huawei thinks it is necessary to display.
They included notifications as well as full-screen popups which were interrupting what we were doing. Hopefully, this will be a problem only for a while.
The screen on the Huawei P30 Pro is crisp, although a QHD + resolution would be better for this size. We had some problems with outside reflections in the day, especially thanks to the curved glass on the edges.
The colors are vibrant and well pop. The single speaker is loud and clear, but there is a lack of punch in music and there is hardly any base.
The Huawei P30 Pro lets you choose between default Vivid color profile and a standard mode, which looks much pale and lifeless for us.
You can also turn white balance by using a color wheel, which is actually a granular level of control over someone's need.
Most of the videos have been played with a black band, with a front camera footing, which is fine. Games and video clips are very good with smooth speed and excellent contrast.
The HDR in the YouTube video was clear. Once again, we found the curved screen edges distracting.
We run our standard benchmark to check the performance of Huawei P30 Pro fairly. AnTuTu gave us a strong score of 282,444, and the single-core and multi-core test results of Geekbench were 3,274 and 9,730 respectively.
For graphics, we got 3,582 points in 3DMark's slingshot Extreme Test, as well as GFXBench's Manhattan 3.1 and Car Chase scenes, respectively, at 49fps and 28fps.
PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends are relatively demanding game titles for graphics and both of them were fully running in the highest quality. We had a very pleasant time playing both games.
4200mAh battery inside the Huawei P30 Pro easily lasted one and a half days. We noticed that using the cameras is lowering the battery level than anything else.
Our HD Video Loop Test lasted 18 hours, a total of 14 minutes. Video playback was automatically suspended when the battery level dropped to five percent, and we started it again until the phone dies.
With a completely dead phone, we plugged in the 40W supercharge and we were amazed to see that in just one minute, the charge level became 4 percent, and in ten minutes, it was up to 26 percent.
In 30 minutes, we were up to 65 percent. A full charge of the Huawei P30 Pro took a shed in just one hour. We should note that the phone is inconveniently warmed while charging fast.

The second camera on the Huawei P30 Pro is an ultra-wide-angle 20-megapixel f / 2.2 unit that you can use to make panoramas and large group shots or capture objects for which you are very close. While good, it does not offer anything out of normal.
The real star of the show is an incredibly clever bit of engineering - Hughie's periscopic optical zoom camera.
It brings a new level of photographic capability to the smartphone, and it is currently unmatched by anyone else, including heavy Apple, Samsung, and Google.
Not only do you get a 5X optical zoom, but you get a 10x "hybrid" and 50x digital zoom even though this last capability is certainly not of much value.
There is also optical stabilization in the telephoto camera on the Huawei P30 Pro, which is increased every slight movement after zooming in your hand.
The tradeoff is that the resolution is only 8 megapixels, and the aperture is a disappointing f / 3.4 which makes this camera useless at night.
In fact, the camera app will use digital zoom through the primary camera, and if it detects a slight decline in ambient light, it does not switch over it, and it also includes inside the house during the day.
There is no indication for the user when this is happening, but we have learned to understand the difference.
The final rear camera is a time-of-flight depth sensor used to make 3D maps of a scene so that the background and foreground can be separated with high accuracy.
It works quickly and uses AR, 3D object scanning and gaming, which Huawei says will detect it with future software updates.
An AR app that will allow users to map and measure objects and locations and they have been promised for Huawei P30 Pro buyers at the beginning of May.
The single front camera on the Huawei P30 Pro is relatively simple, with 32-megapixel sensor and f / 2.0 aperture. There are some beautification options and effects that you can apply, but you can not preview before taking the shot.
Huawei also avoids its AI features, which is enabled by the Kirin 980 SoC. AI is enabled by default and can detect objects in a scene, and can also take many exposures for HDR processing.
HiVision is a feature that attempts to identify objects, places, text and more. You can get automatic translations, search online shopping sites, and even calculate the calorie count of food.
The Huawei P30 Pro Camera app layout is quite standard, there is a carousel on the bottom and quick toggle on top to switch on mode. While holding the phone to frame a shot, it may be strange to try to reach some of them.
Many more modes are available in a Spillover menu. You can choose from different Bokeh styles in portrait mode, which only works on the human face. There is a separate aperture mode for depth-of-field effects. A pro mode offers a lot of control and overrides all AI Tweaks.

Huawei's new offer is definitely disruptive when it comes to zoom capabilities and low-light photography, and it's definitely one of the best phones you can buy right now if the cameras are your top priority. It said this comparison did not win down the hand.
We were truly impressed by the level of expansion and sharpness, which we were able to capture with Huawei P30 Pro, it is in wide shots, close-ups or in-zoom-in shots. Some of the macros we took were really amazing.
Portrait mode effects did not always work and there were some weird spots where the edge was wrong to find. For everyday shots, we think the colors will be a bit more vivid.
We enjoyed playing with the telephoto camera at the Huawei P30 Pro, though the inability to use it at night was disappointing.
While standing in one place, we set many sets of shots in 0.6X (Ultra-Wide), 1X, 5X, 10X and 50X, and for our surprise, the 10X hybrid zoom samples looked pretty good.
Even at 50X, while the results were definitely smeared, we could capture some useful details such as printed text on a far distant object.
First of all, we were a bit confused by the night mode on the Huawei P30 Pro because the results were hardly better, which we could capture in auto mode, and we were instructed to remain fully stable for 8 seconds while the shots were captured.
We soon realized that the combination of new sensors and low aperture means that the night shots of the P30 Pro taken in Auto mode are just as good as other phones use long exposure and increase the ISO level.
The knight shots with the Huawei P30 Pro came with clear descriptions and colors, where most ordinary phones used to create gray noise.
Where Night mode came in work, it was in scenes with tougher exposure - the point of light which became streaks or drops with a long exposure was presented very crisply.
The 32-megapixel front camera used to do a good job, but the depth effects were not great, which was not surprising. We completely turned beautification down and were happy with the quality as a whole.
While recording a video, you can switch between the lenses on the fly, but the digital zoom is limited to 15X. Optical stabilization works brilliantly, and when we were walking the footage was well pressed.

You will get a great looking phone with good battery life and top-notch build quality does not matter which way you want to go.
The display of P30 Pro at this price level is not crisp like other phones, and the processor will probably not favorably compare against Snapdragon 855 powered offerings which will soon bring floods to the market.
If you like your phone, you will not like the bright colors of the P30 Pro.
