The Samsung Galaxy S10 is a "middle child" in the Galaxy S10 trio, which the company has just launched. While the Galaxy S10+ is considered as the best in terms of Galaxy S series.

The Galaxy S10 then gets stuck in the middle, claiming to offer the best of both worlds. Does it really manage to do this, or are you better than your siblings? We have put it to the test to find out.

You get an aluminum frame which is sandwich between the front cornering gorilla glass 6 and the back of the Gorilla Glass 5. This will also help in opposing scratch to some extent with the use of the phone day by day.
The Galaxy S10 has a 6.1-inch Super AMOLED display, which sits right between the Samsung Galaxy S10e Galaxy 55,900 (Review) 5.8 inches display and a 6.4-inch display on the Samsung Galaxy S10 + (review).
Since it is a quad-core + panel, it pushes 550ppi which is similar to the Galaxy S10 +. The display is also HDR10 + certified, so you will be able to enjoy HDR content on it. Just like the Galaxy S10 +, you get an Ultrasonic In-Display Fingerprint Scanner on the Galaxy S10.
The Galaxy S10 has a small footprint, and the round aluminum frame makes it easy to hold in hand. It has the SIM tray at the top with the micro.
At the bottom, it has a USB Type-C port, primary microphone with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a loudspeaker. The back of the Galaxy S10 is a fingerprint magnet and you have to wipe it repeatedly or pop it in the clear plastic case that comes in the box.
Pre-apply a screen protector on the Samsung display that you may or may not like, but at least you will not need to hunt for the person working with an in-display fingerprint scanner. There is still a bixby button on the right, which can be used to trigger the Samsung voice's assistant.
You have the option to either set a single or double-press to launch a separate app, as long as the other of those options still triggers the Bixby, as we noted in our Galaxy S10+ review Was there.
The Galaxy S10 has a hole-punch design for its single front camera. Yes, you remember the content in the upper-right corner of the screen, but we did not disturb it.

The Digital Welbing feature of Android 9 helps you control the time spent on various apps.
Samsung has also made some useful customizations like Smart Stay, which keeps the screen up to date as long as you are watching it. There are lots of motion motors and gestures shortcuts.
You also have the option of switching to gesture navigation instead of the traditional three-button Android navigation plan.
The Apps Age shortcuts bar can be accessed from any screen to launch the app. Samsung also provides a pop-up panel that allows compatible apps such as Whatsapp and Messages at the top of any app to facilitate multitasking.
Dual app support lets you run two instances of some apps The software experience is similar to the Galaxy S10 +, so you can read more about this in our review of older siblings.
The Galaxy S10 has a few predefined apps, but you can uninstall most of them.
We found that the My Galaxy App will send push notifications that fill the notification shade during a day.
We can not get out of messages, so we completely disabled the notifications from this app.
Samsung Galaxy S10 performance, cameras and battery life
The Galaxy S10 has an excellent display that gives a crisp output. You will enjoy it while playing or watching the content, and honestly, we can not find a hole in the distraction. |

You can change the effectiveness of the resolution, as well as the colors you like. We're stuck for the default full HD + resolution and vivid color profile, but you can compete with the original QHD + resolution and choose the natural output if you do not want to pop the colors as much as possible.
Speaker of Galaxy S10 is good, and Samsung uses bottom-firing speaker with earpiece to simulate the stereo effect. Both the headphones have Dolby Atomos support for loudspeakers, and it can be easily enabled using a quick toggle.
When you receive incoming calls at the crowded place, and enjoy video and games on this phone, then the speaker puts enough emphasis on you. Earpiece is also loud, and we can easily listen to the other side on the call.
We had the idea of how Samsung Exynos 9820 will perform because we have already tested the Galaxy S10 +. The Galaxy S10 gave similar performance and we did not report any kind of defaults or stutter during our review.
We also played PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9: Legends and F1 Mobile. We found that PUBG Mobile ran on high-speed settings without problems, while Asphalt 9 Legends and F1 Mobile ran on default settings without any problems.
After playing the game for a while, we found that the phone would be hot to touch, but not at the uncomfortable degree. After running PUBG mobile for 40 minutes, the battery level decreased by 14 percent, which is acceptable.

We can also watch HDR video on the device thanks to the HDR10 + display.
In the benchmark, the Galaxy S10 performed very well. While managing 7,862 PCMark Work 2.0, it saw 326,216 points in AnTuTu. This phone scored 4,467 and 9,711 in the single-core and multi-core trials of Geekbench 4, respectively, respectively.
In the GFXBench T-Rex Benchmark, it managed to hit the peak of 60fps, while the Manhattan 3.1 Test also returned a 57fps return. Overall, these scores are similar to the Galaxy S10 + and the Galaxy S10e, which have been successful in our tests.
The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 + have a single camera setup in conjunction with a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and both phones deliver very similar photos and videos. While taking portrait shots in live focus mode, the phone is able to differentiate between the subject and the background and applies a blur effect very well.
It also gives you the convenience of changing the intensity of the blot before taking the shot. What we found interesting is that we can change the effect type and intensity after shooting a photo.
The photos taken in the night were bright and they had a good amount of detail. We found that even in low light, the Sean Optimizer could find out what we were shooting, so that we could get clear results. The Galaxy S10 also managed to keep the noise in control, just like the Galaxy S10 +.
The 10 megapixel selfie camera takes good pictures, which have a lot of detail. With the Galaxy S10, you have to rely on a single selfie camera for live focus, because this phone lacks the Galaxy S10 + in-depth sensor. Edge Detection is acceptable, and we did not face any issues.

Video recording for rear camera tops 4K for 60Kps and 4K for selfie shooter at 30fps. You get a super slo-mo video mode that lets you shoot at 960fps, and a super-static mode that uses wide-angle sensors and allows the frame to have more stable footage.
Video stabilization is excellent, and this phone shakes the most from the video. To make this phone as smooth and compact, Samsung had to cut the battery size, but the Galaxy S10 still has an acceptable 34GB battery.
After starting the day at 9 a.m., after running some benchmarks, using Google Maps for Navigation for one hour, taking several camera samples and running 40 minutes PUBG Mobile, we have 15 percent of the battery remaining at 11PM Together with the end of your day.
We had a phone set full-HD + at all times, and if you change the screen resolution then your mileage will be different. The Galaxy S10 has been able to run 14 hours and 23 minutes in our HD Video Loop Test.
The charger supplied to charge the phone is quick. We noticed that in 27 minutes it turned 50 percent and it took about an hour and 15 minutes to fully charge. You can also use a compatible fast wireless charger.
Verdict
It is clear that the Galaxy S10 offers nearly all the features and benefits of the Galaxy S10+ in a more compact body and at a more affordable price.You don't miss out on that cutting edge ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner or the powerful Exynos 9820 SoC.
For people who don't like bulky phones and prefer a relatively compact powerhouse, the Galaxy S10 should fit the bill. Yes, it doesn't have that additional depth sensor in the front.
Which the Samsung Galaxy S10+ (Review) does, but that shouldn't really matter if you don't take a lot of selfies. If you are looking for a smartphone that does it all and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, your search ends here.
