Redmi Note 7 Pro design
The Radmi series of budget smartphones is traditionally stuck with a general design language, which is hardly different from the crowd, but the Redmi Note 7 Pro has a clear departure from that boring design philosophy.Xiaomi has opted for more premium glass-sandwich designs which looks amazing, while also ensuring that smartphones are sustainable. At first glance, the latest offering of the Redmi sub-brand is actually looking more expensive than it is, and this is definitely a good thing.

Redmi Note 7 Pro Review |
Radmi note 7 Pro has gorilla glass 5 on either side, while a plastic rim is run on the edges. Glass rear panel is curved and basically mixes with rim, making the device feel good in hands We have a space black version for review, and to describe it in a word, it looks very beautiful.
We liked the Reflective Finnish and the Minimal Silver Redmi logo. The sides have a bright black coating, which creates a beauty uniformity with a bright rear panel.

These are two trade offs that the users have to be together until they use a protective case. Radmi note 7 Pro also comes in Neptune Blue and Nebula Red options, both have metal shield designs.
Having gorilla glass 5 gives us some assurance that the device should face some casual drops without smashing. Xiaomi also said that the Redmi Note 7 Pro has reinforced the corners to protect the screen from cracking.
Apart from this, the company says that Internal of Radmi Note 7 Pro is protected to a degree of liquid damage, thanks to the use of rubber insulation for tight seal of water and sim tray, volume rocker and power button.
The company has used it, which it calls the P2I hydrophobic nano-coating, which claims to protect the smartphone from contingent fluid spills.
It is worth mentioning here that the Redmi Note 7 Pro can handle only a slight liquid splash; It is not water resistant or dust and does not have an IPxx rating.
It would be best to avoid dipping this smartphone under / below the water. Any damage caused by water risk does not come under standard warranty.
Fingerprint sensor is conveniently located on the rear, but we found the Volume button on the right hand side to reach the handset without adjusting the smartphone in our hands. Nonetheless, the power and volume buttons are "clicks" and provide satisfactory touch feedback.
On the left is the Hybrid Dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) tray, which can take up to 256GB MicroSD card instead of the second SIM. 3.5mm headphone jack sits on top. With an IR emitter, while the speaker and USB type-c port are downwards.
Up Front 6.3 inch Full-HD + (1080x2340 pixels) LTPS in-cell display, which has a 19.5: 9 aspect ratios and 409ppi pixel density. There is a small footprint on top, or in Xiaomi's words "dot Notch".
The display's color reproduction is good, and therefore are the viewing angles. The content on the screen was high for high pixel counting. However, we noticed that the display is quite reflexive and we have to keep the smartphone over 90-inch mark to polish it within 90 minutes. You can adjust color temperature and contrast adjustment of the display.

There is a reading mode that makes the color tone of the screen warm so that the content is easy to read. In addition to manually enabling or disabling it, users can choose to create a custom schedule to automate it.
At 159.21 x 75.21 x 8.1 mm, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is not a small smartphone, and even though we liked its overall design and manufacturing quality, when we struggled to reach the touch control at the extreme extreme opposite the display.
Overall, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the best-looking smartphone in its segment and also looks durable. Box content includes smartphones, a clear protective case, a USB type-c cable, a 10W charger, a sim ejector device, and some paperwork.
Redmi Note 7 Pro specifications and software
Xiaomi has a penchant to pack powerful hardware in affordable devices. The Redmi Note 7 Pro is no exception, and the Chinese raises the bar for "giant" visions, which is usually found in high-priced devices with hardware.Smartphone Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 is powered by SoC, which has up to 6GB of RAM.

Redmi Note 7 Pro Review |
It comes in two configurations - 6GB RAM with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with 64GB of storage. We have a higher version for review, which is worth about Rs. 16,999
The internal storage of smartphones can be increased to 256GB using the MicroSD card, but doing so means to abandon the functionality of dual SIM. The phone has Widewin L1 certification, which means that users can stream HD content from services including Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
Ports on Radmi Note 7 Pro and connectivity options include a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR emitter, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.

Radmi Note 7 Pro runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie with security patches of February. Simply put, MIUI is an acquired taste. People upgrading from Xiaomi smartphones will feel right at home, but those who like stock Android or use any other skin, they can confuse MIUI for a while, especially in the settings app Different places of things
Starting with the home screen, there is no app drawer. Swiping on the home screen opens the content of the Mi Browser of the Mi Browser.
Swiping right on the first home screen comes a shortcut page which is quick to access tools such as memory cleaners, QR code scanners, app recommendations, calendar events, and widgets like match scores and stock prices. Can customize a page and populate it with apps and tools that are often used.
Long pressing on the home screen opens the personalisation Options for changing wallpaper, rearranging apps, adding widgets, tweaking screen layouts and for transition effects. But butter on Redmi Note 7 Pro is smooth on navigating through the UI.
You can choose to enable gesture navigation, but we found that it was not that easy. For example, the cross-screen gesture to switch apps was not very responsive.
MIUI comes with a ton of Bluetooth, and the Redmi Note 7 Pro is no exception. It comes with Xiaomi's in-house app which includes Mi Browser, Mi Video, Mi Community and MiPay. There are also third party apps like Daily Hunt, Opera News and Shareit to name a few.
While third-party applications can be uninstalled, in-house applications can only be stopped forcibly. Not only do these preinstalled apps occupy storage space, they also dish pesky ads. When we try to install new apps from the Play Store or even see the ad on the installation permission screen in the third-party app repository.
To get rid of such applications, we had to disable the "Received Requests" option in MIUI Security App. Additionally, in order to prevent us from seeing them in some applications, individual "personalized ads" options have to be disabled on a per-app basis. To know how to disable them, you can go through our articles about getting rid of ads in MIUI.
On one hand, MIUI offers some clean features. You can choose different types of gestures to perform tasks like opening split-screen interface, closing the current app, closing the screen and launching Google Helper.
Adaptive battery users choose which apps to shut down automatically, if they are running in the background to preserve power. There is also the option to ban the activities of the background apps without closing them.

We especially liked the "second space" feature, which basically lets users create a second user profile. You can easily separate personal and business content into different profiles and can run another example of the application with a different user identity.
The best part is that the secondary profile remains hidden until someone enters a specific password, lock screen pattern, or fingerprint to open it.
There are alternatives to masking the footing or to force them to play full-screen on a per-app basis. However, we found that some games sometimes display incorrectly or lose a part of the content or control when full-screen mode is enabled.
To accomplish this, MIUI offers some useful features, but Bloit and Pesky ads reduce the experience of using an excellent smartphone otherwise.
Redmi Note 7 Pro performance, cameras, and battery life
The Radmi Note 7 Pro is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675, the same processor we had seen in the previous ViVo V15 Pro (review). We did not face any shock and interruption of any display with regular browsing like web browsing, running many social media and productivity apps and video streaming. Even about 10-12 apps were running in the background, the switching between them was smooth.

Talking about gaming, Redmi Note 7 Pro also proved to be a competent artist. Butter Smooth was going on in casual games, and even the games like PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9 were also sought.
Both of these games will go with high graphics and display settings by default, but we notice some frame drop and topical stutter. To determine the medium preset, toning has addressed these issues and the experience was more enjoyable.
Even if the Redmi Note 7 Pro handles the use of day-to-day everyday, but it suffers from a heating issue. One hour session of PUBG Mobile or Modern Combat 5 made the device hot enough, especially in the vicinity of the fingerprint sensor.
The increase in temperature was quite harsh and we had to keep the device inactive for some time to allow gaming to cool down. We hope Xiaomi is able to resolve this issue through OTA updates in the near future.
Coming in to synthetic benchmarks, Redmi Note 7 Pro scored 2,389 and 6,593, respectively in 178,570 in Antutu and single-core and multi-core trials of Geekbench. Moving further into more intense testing of graphics, Redmi Note 7 Pro put the 1,079 telly in the 3DMark Slingshot Extreme OpenGL and returned 41fps and 7.8fps respectively in the GFXBench T-Rex and Car Chase tests.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro was fine when the phone call came. The quality of the call with good sound and sharp sound was good. Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor impressed us with its speed and accuracy. Face Unlock feature was also quick, but it struggled slightly in ambient light conditions.
The possibility of photography of Redmi Note 7 Pro is such that Xiaomi made a big deal about the launch event, compared to this phone from iPhone XS Max ₹ 1,08,424 (Review).
For hardware, the Radmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with the main camera 48-megapixel with f / 1.79 aperture and 1.6μm pixel size using the Sony IMX586 sensor.
It is with a 5-megapixel depth sensor. As far as the features go, the list includes AI Portrait Mode, AI Studio Lighting, AI Dynamic Bokeh, Slow-Mo Video Recording and 4K Video Capture. There is a 13-megapixel camera to take Selfie.
It supports features like AI Portrait Mode, AI Studio Lighting and AI Beautification. Radmi Note 7 Pro definitely raises the bar for smartphone photography in its price bracket. It captures beautiful images with sufficient detail, high dynamic range and good vibrancy. The device shines exclusively when it comes to close-up shots.
The colors were punched and the gradients were reproduced well in our sample shots, while surface details such as grooves and ridges were also captured in great detail.
Sometimes the colors become slightly oversized to increase contrast, and as a result, backgrounds sometimes get undeleted. Apart from this, they are really kind of hot.
These are minor problems, and photographs captured by Radmi Note 7 Pro are generally of superior quality that are capable of a similar-priced smartphone.
Photos are taken by default at a 12-megapixel resolution, in a Redmi note 7 Pro, a technique called pixel binning is used to collect data from four adjacent pixels in the form of a large pixel, which effectively increases the amount of light Brings in By manually enabling 48-megapixel mode you can capture 48-megapixel shots.
The 48-megapixel shot captures more details than the photos recorded in the default 12-megapixel resolution, but they appear to be slightly blurred and exhibit some softening.
12-megapixel shots are different from being very small in size, faster, more vibrant and more deep. Also, the 48-megapixel shots captured in low light have a lot of noise compared to those who take the default resolution.
Radmi Note 7 Pro has beautiful portraits shots. Edge Detection On the Spot, especially in the case of the Bokeh shot captured under daylight. Effects such as stage, movie and cinema are also hosted to add some artistic effects.
However, we saw that Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro sometimes struggles to focus on the foreground and sometimes erases some parts incorrectly. Unfortunately, the smartphone does not allow raw image capture.
Night photography is another area where the Redmi Note 7 pro rises above the competition. Night mode does a good job to brighten shots taken in low light, maintains a good amount of detail.
However, we saw that Night mode sacrifices color accuracy and adds some granular texture to increase exposure. It is worth noting that there is a lack of option to click on images at 48-megapixel resolution in dedicated night mode.
The selfie captured by the 13-megapixel front camera is ready for adequate sharpness and good color reproduction along with social media. To play, skin tones are a host of beautification filters, such as lightning and eye enlargement.
Upon arrival in videography, Radmi Note 7 Pro can shoot full-HD and HD video up to 60fps. Electronic image stabilization does a great job in canceling hand movements. However, there is no EIS during shooting at 4K, and you are capped at 30fps.
Regardless of the 4K video expansions, we saw the smartphone struggling to lock focus and there was very instability in our sample clip.
Slo-mo videos recorded at 120fps turned out fine, but we noticed that the camera sometimes interferes when it comes to locking the focus and there is a slight flicker in the clip recorded inside the house under the artificial light. .
The front camera can record full-HD video at 30fps, but the lack of stabilization means that the appropriate amount of unwanted movement can occur in the footage.
Redmi Note 7 Pro presents its superb all-performance with Stellar battery life. After a whole day of use, which included some phone calls, listening to music through a wireless headset for a few hours, surfing certain YouTube videos, internet and social media, as well as watching gaming for almost an hour, the device still At the end of the day, 15-20 percent of the electricity was left.
With the above usage pattern, we received an average of 13 hours of active usage per charge. As a decreasing rate, Redmi Note 7 Pro's 4,000mAh battery PUBG Mobile lost almost 10-12 percent after 30 minutes of playing many Internet-connected apps running in the background. In our HD Video Loop Test, the smartphone runs for 19 hours and 23 minutes, when the battery is completely exhausted.
Radmi Note 7 Pro Qualcomm's Quick Charge 4.0 supports fast charging technology but unfortunately, the 10W charger coming in the retail box is not compatible so you have to buy one separately. The 10W charger took Redmi Note 7 Pro from zero to 50 percent in 54 minutes, and in all ways 100 percent of the charge was charged in 2 hours and 14 minutes.
Verdict
There has been a lot of work in its favor in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. With its eye-catching designs, smooth performance, impressive cameras and long battery life, it has all the constructions of a solid smartphone. Add to a highly competitive price point, and Xiaomi has another champion in the hands.![]() |
Redmi Note 7 Pro Review |
This does not mean that the Redmi Note 7 Pro is innocent. When gaming works on MIUI ads, then this smartphone gets very hot, some cameras are quirky, and the outer is also a dust and blur magnets.
Sub-rupee There is a lot of enthusiasm in the 20,000 range contest and there are many tools to challenge the Redmi Note 7 Pro. For example, Oppo K1 (review), an in-display fingerprint sensor and an AMOLED display.
For a slightly higher price, Samsung Galaxy A50 brings a triple rear camera setup, super AMOLED display and in-display fingerprint sensor in the table, and is definitely worth considering.
Samsung Galaxy M30 also adds a third ultra-wide camera for wide-angle shots. Nokia 6.1 Plus offers (review) stock Android, smooth display and a beautiful design.
ZenFone Max Pro M2 13,498 (Review) and Realme U1 ₹ 9,999 (Review) are two other smartphones that are worth considering in this particular price segment.
All these smartphones are competitive, but Radmi Note 7 Pro is above its visual appeal, camera, processor, battery life and of course its price.
These are all major parameters that affect smartphone buyers opinion, and it is not often that you can get them all in one package. Redmi Note 7 Pro is a formidable smartphone and emerges as another winner for Xiaomi.
